David Nuhfer, M.D.

Dr. Nuhfer has been a member of the Family Practice Associates' team since 2001. He graduated from Purdue University in Indiana with a B.S. in Engineering. He received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed a residency in family medicine at the St. Anthony Family Medicine Residency Program in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Nuhfer is board-certified in family medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Colorado Medical Society and the Boulder Medical Society.

Dr. Nuhfer is the past chairman of Avista Hospital’s Department of Family Medicine and is the current vice-chair of the Department. He is the board chairman of iPN Avista, an organization of over 100 physicians committed to using electronic health records to improve patient care through integration and evidence based medicine, and has served on the iPN Avista board of directors for five years.

While Dr. Nuhfer enjoys all aspects of family medicine, he has a special interest in sports medicine and chronic disease management. Dr. Nuhfer feels strongly about the importance of preventative care and aggressive chronic disease management to prevent future, life-threatening health complications.

Dr. Nuhfer lives in Arvada with his wife and two young children. He is an avid cyclist, snowboarder and water skier. He enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams, volunteering at his church and spending time with family and friends.
